100 and 1 for free

lunch, originally uploaded by -syko-.

Please join me for lunch! This is post 100 on this blog and as I like to celebrate everyday life we'll do it my way (there will be a give away too so you just have to read through this post...). One of the dis?advantages of working at home is that you have to make your own lunch. I think it is very important to make a warm meal for the kids at night and to serve them appropriate breakfast, but I tend to forget that I have to eat myself. Sometimes I have so fun playing with fabric that I suddenly wake up to a screaming stomach, run to the fridge and find it EMPTY. Or is it empty really or are we just facing another creative moment? Please serve yourselves:

Pasta Carbonara for one à la Syko

1 egg yolk
grated cheese
garlic
pepper
ham, sliced and diced
frozen green beans
caprice
pasta of any kind, I found some very cute animal figures in the cupboard :)

Cook the pasta and the frozen beans. While the pasta is cooking stir the egg yolk, grated cheese, sliced ham, pepper and pressed garlic in a bowl. Drain the pasta and immediately add the egg mix. Add the beans and the caprice on top. Voilá!

Yesterday I got an e-mail from Lark books, they are making a book on baby quilts and asked me to send in an entry. I will! I actually had a wip with fabrics from this project lying around that I think would be great for the purpose. Cross your fingers!

And since this is my 100th post I want to thank you all for taking the time to comment with such an enthusiasm that even at bad days makes me want to sew and sew more just to be able to share it with you. Oh, and I thought I would give away a fairy angel to celebrate the occasion. Just comment here and you will be in the draw. The winner will have a few different fairies to choose from :)

Btw I would never had forgotten my lunch hour while I was working (for someone else).

Your post is very appropriate today, as both the boys have packed lunches and I always fail to eat properly and then wonder why I am bad tempered by mid-afternoon!

Congratulations on your 100th post and on the book opportunity!

Your blog has been a huge inspiration to me since I found it just before Christmas, but I have rarely commented. This seems like the perfect time to start! :-)

kajsa, how is it that this is only your 100th post? :)

i'm like you, i forget to make myself lunch sometimes, too. it's a mom thing.

congrats on the book! i love that cushion, it would transfer nicely to baby blanket!

Oh yes, sounds so familiar... as I work at home too, I often forget to eat. And like now, my stomach is making a horrible noise and I should go and make some dinner now. That SykoCarbonara sounded great... and so easy to make too. I love pasta carbonara with bacon but with ham that would work too.

100 posts... that's so great! I don't think I'll ever be a blogger even though every once in a while I'm attempted to. But I sure enjoy reading yours... :)

Terveiset Jyväskylän talvesta!!! Vihdoin lunta!!!

100 - wow. I meant to comment on how I was in a wee shop in Kensington Market in Toronto and was thrilled to recognize one of your bags there. It was a zap of how small the blogging world is.

Congratulations on achieving your 100th post:)your blog is always an interesting and inspirational read.
I totally agree regarding lack of lunch hours, when I'm at home in my workshop I can get so into what I'm making that I completely forget to eat, although my boyf bought me a big jar of Jelly Beans for xmas which sit on my workroom shelves..energy snacks!

Ditto on the lunch thing, I tend to pick through the day when ever I find I need a cup of tea. I have started trying to give myself a half hour break at lunch now so I don't drift off with blog surfing while eating my sandwich. Love to be part of the give away. Congratulations on the 100th post I still have a long way to go with that, need to remember to post as well as eat ;)

happy 100th post!

I sometimes forget to eat lunch, but having a toddler at home, she usually reminds me gently when she is hungry! cooking anything more elaborate than eggs or toast is a strain though!! good luck on the baby quilt book entry.
